Twila M. Rothchild

Twila Mary (Imler) Rothchild, age 90, of Mankato, KS, passed away on Sunday, December 19, 2021 at the Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, KS.  She was born on March 12, 1931 at the family farm home NE of Lovewell, near Round Mound in Jewell Co., KS to William A. & Nora (Osborne) Imler.

Her elementary education was in rural schools in White Rock and Sweet Hill and she graduated from Montrose Rural High School in 1949.

Twila Imler was united in marriage to Dale E. Rothchild at the Reverend J.A. Stansbury home in rural North Branch, Kansas.  Rev. Stansbury was Dale’s great uncle who had married Dale’s parents.  The couple’s parents were also present at the ceremony.  This marriage began on a farm near Webber and to this union were blessed with three children, Michael Dale, Ronald Keith & Mary Elizabeth.

Twila was a member of the Montrose United Methodist Church and when it closed she moved her membership to the Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato.  She was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary.  She enjoyed helping the church work as long as her health permitted.  She also enjoyed gardening and working with flowers in the yard.

She is survived by her sons, Michael (Martha Dittman), Woodbine, Kansas and Ronald (Anna), Beloit, Kansas; daughter, Mary Rothchild, Mankato, Kansas; nine grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents; 2 sisters, Wilma Imler & Frances Butler and 2 brothers, Glenn & Paul Imler.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am, Thursday, December 23, 2021 at Harmony United Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Rice officiating.  Burial will follow at the Webber Cemetery, Webber, KS.  Visitation will be from 2-8 pm, Wed., Dec. 22, 2021 at Melby Mortuary, Mankato.
