Phyllis Esther (Warren) Lange, 93, of Mankato, passed away January 23, 2023. Phyllis was born on February 20, 1929, the daughter of James and Ada (Bacon) Warren, on the family farm. Phyllis was married to Arthur Alvin “Bill” Lange on September 3, 1954, and they spent their lives farming and raising cattle while working full-time – Bill for the Kansas Department of Transportation, and Phyllis for the Rural Electrical Association and Cooperative. Bill and Phyllis were partners to the end, nearly inseparable, and deeply in love until Bill’s death in 2020.
Phyllis enjoyed being an active member of the Christian Church and was a long-time member, serving as an officer, in the VFW Ladies’ Auxiliary.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Irene, Blaine, Clifford, Joyce and Neil. She also leaves behind a son, Ben Lange, his wife Laurie, and her granddaughter Leah, and many loving nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato. Following the services, the family will greet friends at the Mankato Christian Church.
Friends may sign Phyllis’s book on Monday, January 30, from 1pm – 5pm, at Melby Mortuary in Mankato.
