Virginia B. Douglas

Virginia B. (Shoemaker) Douglas was born on October 7, 1929, in rural Jewell County, to John and Merle (Dean) Shoemaker, and she passed away on February 2, 2023, at the age of 93, in Marysville.

Virginia graduated from Glen Elder (KS) High School in 1947, and she was united in marriage to Melvin Douglas on June 6, 1949. To this union two sons were born, Terry and Gary.

Virginia enjoyed arts and crafts, working on word search puzzles, and most importantly, spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Melvin, her sons Terry and Gary, sister Opal Glauser and brother Harold Shoemaker.

Her memories will be forever cherished by her daughter-in-law Lori Douglas, her grandchildren Toby Douglas, Tessa Douglas, Taylor Douglas, Robert Douglas, Skylar Douglas and Kayla Douglas. Virginia is also survived by her brother Delmar Shoemaker and sister Judy Weber.

Virginia requested cremation, and no public services will be held.
