Garry W Everson

Garry Wayne Everson, 89, died May 15, 2024, in Salina, Kansas, where he had made his home since 1967.  He was born on a farm February 8, 1935, the sixth of six sons of Gillis and Ella (Gunlicks) Everson of Mankato, Kansas.

His five brothers predeceased him: Raymond, Hutchinson, Kansas; Merrill, Edina, Minnesota; Lester, Mankato, Kansas; Glen, Hutchinson, Kansas; and Jerald, Big Timber, Montana.   He is survived by seven nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins and friends.

Garry was baptized and raised in the Norwegian Lutheran Church of America now known as the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America of Mankato, Kansas.

After high school, Garry lived in Boulder, Colorado, until 1967, returning to Kansas. He worked for Wilson and Company Engineers and Architects, Salina, Kansas, for thirty years, retiring in 1997.

Cremation was chosen, a Memorial Service will take place on May 31, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Carver Center in Salina, KS with Doug Ashbridge officiating. A graveside service will take place on June 1, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mankato, Kansas. Memorials can be made to the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Mankato in care of Melby Mortuary, P.O. Box 384, Mankato, KS 66956.
