Dr. John R. Tyler

August 27, 1953 — April 28, 2022

John R. Tyler was born on August 27 th , 1953, in Superior, to Anthony Lee & Helen Lutillia (Howell) Tyler.

John grew up in Richland Township neighborhood, and was part of the group of onry boys that kept their mothers on their toes. He attended school in Montrose, and then Mankato, graduating from Mankato High School, class of 1971, a class that remains close to this day. Following high school, John worked at the Blauvelt Station south of Superior, and then as the Mankato swimming pool manager. He then attended Cloud County Community College, graduating in 1973. John graduated from Fort Hays State University in 1978. John returned to Mankato, working as the manager of the Midway Coop, and he served as the Mayor of Mankato during this time.

John started attending chiropractor school in Kansas City, before he relocated to California to complete his chiropractor training in 1988, graduating with his Doctorate from the Pasadena College of Chiropractic. John then established a practice with several chiropractors in California, and maintained this practice for many years.

John then returned to Mankato, where he established Tyler Chiropractor, where he saw patients 7 days a week, and he would open his doors any time after hours, to anyone needing help. John hated to see people in pain and suffering, and wanted to be available anytime to help.

John was a huge fan of Winston Churchill, and he enjoyed watching baseball games, along with gardening and tending to his flowers and vegetables. He was a member of the Mankato Chamber of Commerce, and served his city as a member of the Mankato City Council. John also enjoyed arguing politics, and loved playing or being part of practical jokes. From gars in the bathtub to missing front seats, John never knew a dull moment, living life to the fullest.
