Dr. Douglas M. Fair, age 78 of Oberlin, Kansas, and Donna Texas, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019.  Loving Brother of Janis (William) Hogan, Annis (Fred) Hill; father of Dr. Christopher (Raquel) Fair, David Fair, Laura (Carl) Newton, Andrea (Mikeal) Montalva, Jeff Williams, and Jenna (Kevin) Cox; grandfather of Jacob (Stephanie) Fair, Caleb Fair, Abigail Fair, Jordan (Kara) Fair, Rachel (Jacob) Valdez, Joshua (Jaclyn) Fair, Forrest Fair, Amanda (Michael) Wojciechowski, Stephanie Newton, Brandon Montalva, Sarah Montalvo, Justin Williams, Sophie Williams, Payton Cox, Hayden Cox; great-grandfather of  Riley Fair, Lyla Fair, Kaydence Valdez, and Windsor Valdez.    Douglas was proceeded in death by his parents – Forrest Royer and Sarah Maxine (Jacobs) Fair.

Retired Chiropractor in 2010, he was truly devoted to his patients, and community, having two practices one in Oberlin and St. Francis, Kansas.  He was honored by the Kansas Chiropractic Association as Doctor of the year in 1973.  He was a past member of the Shriners, a member of the Oberlin United Methodist Church and attended the Cowboy Church of the Valley in Donna.  He was Kansas Chiropractor Association (KCA) President 1969, served on KCA board of directors 1970 – 1978.  Douglas graduated from Wesleyan University in Salina, Kansas and National Chiropractic College in Lombard, Illinois.

He loved to golf and was very active also enjoying scuba diving, skiing, playing pool, hunting, motorcycle racing, snowmobiling, old cars, acting and singing in theater.  He loved photography and taught photography classes.  Douglas was a pilot for over 50 years and loved flying his plane.  He developed a love for trains from his father and built several train sets over the years.  Douglas loved his family, friends, patients, and community.

There will be a Celebration of life service at the United Methodist Church in Oberlin, Kansas, at 4:00 p.m., March 30, 2019.  Following the service, the family will receive friends and have fellowship at the Golden Age Center, Oberlin, Kansas.  Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas.
