Danny Lee Barnes

Danny Lee Barnes, Burr Oak, Kansas, was the son of Clifford and Glennys (Fogo) Barnes was born July 7, 1962, at Red Cloud, Nebraska.  He died after a battle with cancer at his home, in Burr Oak, Kansas, on August 29, 2019, with family around his side.  He was 57 years, 1 month, and 22 days old.

Danny graduated from Burr Oak High School.  He touched many lives and loved playing with all the little children.  Danny could take anything apart and make it work again.  He will be remembered for his life of fishing and driving demolition derby cars.  Danny was a man with a green thumb and his garden was his pride and joy, which he shared with anyone who was in need and his community.

Danny is survived by his parents- Clifford and Glennys Barnes of Burr Oak; sister- Diana and husband, Jeff Ord of Guide Rock, Nebraska; two brothers- David and wife, Lori Barnes of Smith Center, Kansas, and Darin and wife, Amanda Barnes of Red Cloud, Nebraska; nieces and nephews- Keller and wife, Patsy, Kyle and wife, Katie, Drew and husband, Chad, Kasey and wife Lexi, Steffen, Corie and husband, Cody, Lillian, Lance, Kayla, Tony and wife, Jessica, and Tanner; 12 great-nieces and nephews; and a community of friends.

The family will be having a graveside service, Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 10:00 a.m., at the Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Kansas.  Mr. Jeff Ord will preside over the service and inurnment will follow.  The family suggest memorial donation be made payable to Glennys Barnes, and charities will be named later.

Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas, was in charge of arrangements.
