Beth Ann Cook (Burgess/Mizner) was born on April 21, 1960 in Flagler, CO to Laverna Mizner and Pat Burgess. Beth Ann unexpectedly passed away in a tragic accident on June 25, 2021 in Matagorda TX.

Beth Ann is preceded in death by her dad Pat Burgess, mom Laverna Mizner, and brother Dwight Burgess.

Beth Ann grew up in Esbon and Mankato KS, she graduated from Esbon High in Esbon KS. Beth Ann also lived in CA, HI, Maple Falls WA, LaCenter WA, Vancouver WA, Cheyenne WY, Tacoma WA, and Yoakum TX.

Beth Ann spent her life caring for others. She enjoyed her work, starting her career as an EMT then becoming a nurse, RN, graduating from LCC in Longview WA. Beth Ann was assistant director of nursing at Halletsville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in TX at the time of her passing. Beth Ann married Bernie February 9, 1999 and they loved to travel, they were traveling nurses before settling in TX. Beth Ann dedicated a lot of time and energy to her dogs, she enjoyed rescuing dogs and watching them thrive. She made many friends through great dane rescues. She loved visiting family and spoiling her grandkids.

She is survived by husband Bernie Cook in Yoakum TX, daughter Nita Bange (Kenyon) in Brighton CO, son Jeffrey Mizner (Kaitlin) in Bellingham WA, son Ryan Hastings (Heidi) in Havre MT, son Garrett Hastings (Lauren Stemple) in Tulsa OK. Brother Steve Burgess (Margaret) in Limon CO. Grandkids Gage Bange, Bailey Burdick (Bange), Brielle Bange, Kelton Bange, Jordyn Mizner, Aiden Hastings, and Emberlynn Hastings. Dogs Zeus, Tug, Kaos, Luna, Mayhem and Bella.

A graveside service is being held Saturday August 28, 2021 at the Burr Oak Kansas cemetery at 5 PM.
