Alberta L. Diamond

Alberta L. Diamond, age, 88, formerly of Mankato passed away Tuesday, July 14, 2020 at The Pines in Holton. She was born on December 25, 1931 in Jewell County, Kansas to Clifton and Lillie (Howell) Dunn.

Alberta attended Steuben Elementary School and was a 1949 graduate of Mankato High School.
She was a 1950 graduate of Brown Mackie School of Business in Salina, Kansas.

She married Hank Henry Diamond on August 15, 1951 at the Mankato Christian Church. He preceded her in death on December 21, 1992.

Alberta worked from 1950- 1951 at Rural Electric, and was a bookkeeper at Beardmore Motors from 1954-1955. She later worked at the Dreamliner Motel from 1973-1976 and also at the local Frontier Café. Alberta also worked for Kramer Furniture and Melby Mortuary until retiring in 1992.

Her memberships include the Mankato Christian Church, where she taught Sunday School, played the Piano, and made Church Bulletins, she also volunteered at the Senior Citizens Center and delivered meals on wheels, and was a longtime member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.

Alberta is survived by her 3 daughters, Belinda Kneisler, Hoyt, KS; Denise (Robert) Kneisler Mayetta, KS, Pamela Kramer (Kenneth), Goff, KS; son, John (Jay) Diamond, Holton, KS; 11 grandchildren, Kenneth Kneisler (Shelley), Bridget Fulkerson (Jason), Clinton Burger, Jason Ross (Amy), Kelly Kneisler, Darby Kneisler (Kristin), Kyle Kramer (Krista), Brittney Quelch (Jason), Bethany Ohlsen (Robert), Brooke Callaway (Bryan Randa), Kaitlyn Dunn (Nick); 21great-grandchildren and two on the way; 2 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, parents, Clifton and Lillie Dunn, 4 sisters, Faye Braden, Beulah Dunn and Audrey Coffman and Neva Maag.

Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 21, 2020, with Pastor Thaddeus Hinkle officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Monday, July 20, 2020, with the family receiving friends from 6-8 pm all at the Melby Mortuary, Mankato.
