Wilma Helen (Sager) Deibert

July 31, 1919 — August 1, 2010

Wilma Helen (Sager) Deibert went to join her Savior on August 1, 2010, at Carriage House, Greensburg, Kansas, at the age of 91. Wilma was born on July 31, 1919 on a farm southwest of Edmond KS, Norton Co. She was born to William Ernest Sager and Margaret Neveda (Craig) Sager.
At the age of 13 she was baptized in the North Solomon River near Edmond, when she gave her life to our Savior. She graduated in May 1937 from Edmond High School. Wilma received her teaching certificate at the age of 17 and started teaching in the fall of 1937 at the age of 18. She taught in Graham County, Norton County and Sheridan County. She was very proud of her teaching career and during this time she met and married her soul mate Frederick (Sam) Deibert on February 22, 1941. She left her teaching career to start raising a family. Wilma followed Sam from Hoxie, Kansas, to Colorado and finally settled on a farm south of Esbon, Kansas where they raised seven children. Wilma and Sam were partners on the farm, where they raised cattle and crops. While on the farm they taught their kids Christian values. In May 1979, they moved to Mankato, Kansas, where Wilma lived until October 2005. She moved to Greensburg, Kansas, where she survived the tornado of 2007, which devastated the town. In 2009 she moved into an assisted living complex where the staff quickly became her guardian angels. Wilma loved being with her family, which was extended to her nieces, nephews and she made each and every person feel special and she kept all of them in her heart. She enjoyed watching the eyes of others light up as they opened gifts that Wilma had made for them, gifts from her heart. She always had a kind word for everyone.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, baby brother Morris Sager, grandsons Jeremy Deibert and Troy Deibert, and son-in-law Kevin Groves.
Survivors include Edwin (Sandy) and wife Emy of Minneola, Kansas, Edward (Buster) and friend Donna of Virginia Beach, VA, Helen Libby and husband Dan of Lewis, Kansas, Jack and friend Betty of Kinsley, Dale of Kansas, Andy of Russell, Kansas, Kathy Lindberg and husband Gregg of Colby, Kansas, Siblings Betty Custine of Overland Park, Kansas, William (Bill) Sager of Everett, Washington, Margaret Mattlock of Hunter, Oklahoma, Ruth Hyde of Hill City, Kansas, Linda Brown of Lawrence, Kansas. Survivors also includes 23 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren and many more friends and family.
