Jay Platt

March 25, 1926 — July 18, 2010

Jay Platt, 84, of Fort Collins passed away July 18, 2010. He was born March 25, 1926, on a farm in Mankato, KS, to Samuel and Claretta (Ayers) Platt.

Jay worked for the Kansas Highway Department for 39 years. When he retired, Jay moved to Springfield, MO, to be near family. In 2005, he moved to Fort Collins, CO, to be closer to his sister and her family.

Jay is survived by his brother, Jim (Evelyn) Platt of McCune, KS; sister, Jan (Paul) Harmon of Fort Collins, CO; and 6 nieces and 4 nephews. He is also survived by many great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents; brothers, Jerry and Joe; and aunts and uncles.

Jay, I enjoyed your being here in Colorado with us the past 5 years. I will miss our outings to lunch after the doctor visits. I love you so much, your only sister: Jan.

A graveside committal service will be held 11:00 am Tuessday, July 27 at Mount Hope Cemetery in Mankato. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association in care of Melby Mortuary, P. O. Box 384, Mankato, KS 66956.
