Sandra P Gibbens - Ranstead

Sandra P. Gibbens – Ranstead, Mankato, Kansas, was born February 23, 1941, in Eureka, California, to Paul and Ceely (Carlsen) Gibbens, and died October 16, 2009, at Mount Joseph Senior Village, in Concordia, Kansas, at the age of 68 years.

Sandra graduated from St. Benard’s Catholic School, in Eureka, California. She also graduated from Notre Dame and taught art, business, math, and went to Harley Davidson Mechanic School. She was a nurse in some of the hospitals around Eureka, California. Sandra was married to David Martin Ranstead, Sr. on May 15, 1993, by Pastor Fred Boring, at Hoopa, California.

She had five children, three girls – Lesa Polly Creuiston, Angela Baskow, and one that preceded her in death, and two boys – Robert Frances ‘Elbin’ deceased, and Henry Nathan Martin.

She is also survived by her husband, David M. Ranstead, Sr., Mankato, Kansas; a brother – Gary Gibbens; 4 half brothers – Steven, Rodger, Daniel, and Tom Gibbens; three half sisters – Jan, Jane, and Susan all from Weitchpec, California; David’s children – Susan C Ray from Granite Pass, Oregon, David Ranstead, Jr. from Sylvan Grove, Kansas, Roger Griffith from Sylvan Grove, Kansas, Melody Hobbard from Lebanon, Kansas, Joseph E. Ranstead from Mankato, Kansas, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Family held graveside services for Sandra P. Gibbens – Ranstead, on Saturday, October 17, 2009, at 3:00 p.m., with Father George Chalbhagam officiating. Interment followed in the Jewell City Cemetery, Jewell, Kansas.
