James J Park

October 10, 1964 — August 3, 2009

James Jay Park was born in Belleville, Kansas, on October 10, 1964 to Dale and Louise (Kirkbride) Park. He passed into heaven on Monday, August 3, 2009 at the age of 44 after many years of illness, pain and time in hospitals and the Hilltop Lodge in Beloit.
Jamie was the ‘little’ brother of Laura McClure, Osborne, Kansas, and Diane Burbridge, Lincoln, Kansas, and the brother-in-law of John McClure and Dick Burbridge. Jamie’s nephews are Darryn Menhusen, Sacred Heart, Minnesota, and Justin Menhusen, Jewell, Kansas. Great aunt Beryle (Somer) Adams, Lincoln, Nebraska and James shared a special bond. Terry Maddox, Kearney, Nebraska, was like a son to him.
Jamie grew up in Mankato, attended K-12 and graduated in 1983. He loved basketball, hunting, fishing, and Cornhusker Football!
He went on to graduate from Cleveland Chiropractic College as a Dr. of Chiropractic.
On April 7, 1997, James was apprehended by unconditional love Himself, Jesus Christ.
Throughout his years of illness he held on to God’s goodness in any and all circumstances. Jamie valued the many, many friends that encouraged him through the tough times.
A memorial service to celebrate Jamie’s life will be held on Saturday, August 15, 2009, in the commons area of the ‘Mankato’ Rock Hills High School, Mankato, Kansas at 2:00 p.m. The family requests no plants or flowers. Memorials will go to Jamie’s favorite charity, the People’s City Mission, Lincoln Nebraska.
A family service graveside will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2009, at the Mount Allen Cemetery, Hays, Kansas.
Death separates us for a time; Christ will reunite us forever.

Grant unto us, Almighty God, in all time of sore distress,
The comfort of the forgiveness of our sins.
In time of darkness give us blessed hope,
In time of sickness of body give us quiet courage;
And when the heart is bowed down, and the soul is very heavy,
And life is a burden, and pleasures a weariness,
And the sun is too bright, and life too mirthful,
Then may that Spirit, the Spirit of the Comforter, come upon us,
And after our darkness may there be the clear shining of the heavenly light;
That so, being uplifted again by Thy mercy,
We may pass on through this our mortal life
With quiet courage, patient hope, and unshaken trust,
Hoping through Thy loving-kindness and tender mercy
To be delivered from death into the large life of the eternal years.
Hear us of Thy mercy, through Jesus Christ our Lord – Amen.
