Marlo W. Nansel, age 69, entered into rest on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at the Kenwood View Nursing Center, Salina, Kansas. He was born June 30, 1946 in Elmore, Minnesota to Raymond and Pearl May (White) Nansel.
Marlo attended a specialty school in Owatonia, Minnesota into his teens. Marlo was limited and handicapped in life and he worked as a dishwasher in several restaurants for many years until he became disabled.
While living in the Burr Oak and Smith Center communities Marlo attended the Church of the Nazarene.
Marlo loved to bowl and competed several years in the Special Olympics receiving many awards over the years.
He is survived by two brothers, Marion Nansel (Joyce), Wichita; Ks.; Marvin Nansel (Mary), Indianapolis, In.; Two sisters, Nola Jones, Armona, Ca.; Shirley McCarty, Bowie, Tx.; Eight nieces and nephews.
Marlo has bequeathed his body to science to the KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas which is a noble and humane gesture. There are no services planned at this time. Cremation will take place at a later time. Inurnment will be in the Burr Oak Cemetery.
