George M. Pfrimmer

January 1, 1940 — December 23, 2015

George Murray Pfrimmer was born on Jan. 1, 1940 in San Gabriel, CA to Vernie and George Pfrimmer. George (or “Stub” as he was affectionately nicknamed) grew up in San Gabriel with 3 brothers. George served in the US Air Force and travelled all over Europe during his enlistment. He was discharged in 1961.

George married Aurora Arellano on October 12, 1963 after getting out of the service. They grew up on the same street; George knew Aurora’s brothers. They were married at the historic San Gabriel Mission.

George went to school at LA Trade Tech and learned to work on machines that dispensed: vending, cigarette, candy, pinball. He worked at Nicklelock. He was later a delivery truck driver for Vons until he was in a severe car accident and injured his back.

George was primarily a buyer and seller of anything he could turn at antique markets, shopping malls, and swap meets. He also made custom furniture, clocks and more recently, he enjoyed making customized dioramas.

He was known for his unique laugh and playful personality. People could identify his laugh from aisles away. With his rosy cheeks and blue eyes, he played Santa Claus for many years at the mall and other venues. He made lifetime friendships with other entrepreneurs.

George and Aurora celebrated 52 years of marriage this past October. They have 4 children but the 9 grandchildren are the favorites.

George is survived by his wife Aurora, children (Tim Pfrimmer, Dale Pfrimmer, Deanna Habel, Christina Johnson), their spouses (Joyce, Megan, Daniel, and Paul), nine grandchildren (Madison, Kendall, Noah, Lara, Hannah, Lance, Alana, Hayden, Luke) and his brother, James Pfrimmer.

George Pfrimmer died on December 23, 2015, at Guide Rock, Nebraska, at the age of 75 years.
