Bernice June Corrick

Bernice June (Fielder) Corrick was born at DeWitt, Nebraska, to Fredrick and Lila (Carre) Fielder, on December 28, 1930, and passed away on March 9, 2009, at the Good Samaritan Hospital, in Kearney, Nebraska, at the age of 78 years, 2 months, and 11 days.

She attended first grade at DeWitt and the remaining 11 years at Esbon, Kansas, where she graduated in 1948. Bernie as she was called, lived in Esbon most of her life. She was a member of the Auxiliary and a homemaker, attended the Christian and United Methodist Church in Esbon. Bernice was united in marriage to Bruce Richard Corrick on May 19, 1948, at Beloit, Kansas. They were blessed with three daughters.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Bruce Corrick; daughter, Valerie Corrick, and her parents.

She is survived by her daughters – Cindy Bailey of Augusta, Kansas, and Marcia and husband, Russell Wiehl; two special grandchildren- Staci Wiehl, and Steven and wife, Trisha Wiehl; a very special loved great-grandchild Spencer, all of Smith Center, Kansas; a brother, Fred Fielder of Concordia, Kansas; and many loving nieces and nephews.

A memorial celebration of life service for Bernice June (Fielder) Corrick will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Friday, March 13, 2009, at the Melby Mortuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas. The family suggest memorials be given to the Bernice Corrick Memorial fund in care of the Melby Mortuary, P O Box 384, Mankato, Kansas 66956.

At the request of the family, in lieu of flowers, the family has asked that you do random act of kindness for a stranger.
