Terry Lee Howell

Terry Lee Howell was born March 6, 1951, at Hastings, Nebraska, to Paul J. and Eloise (Schultz) Howell. He died December 5, 2008, at the Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, Kansas, after a long battle with cancer.

Terry always kept his diploma from Kindergarten at Guide Rock, Nebraska, where he started his education. He attended Burr Oak Grade School and graduated from Burr Oak High School. He went on to North Central Kansas Vo-tech in Beloit. He was a former Boy Scout. and enjoyed farming. Terry was very proud of his woodworking projects that he completed while attending Burr Oak High School. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene of Burr Oak.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Carto and Barbara Howell and Lloyd and Lydia Schultz. He is survived by his parents - Paul J. and Eloise Howell of Mankato; sister - Joleen Howell of Esbon, Kansas; brother - Ricky C. Howell of Burr Oak, Kansas; two aunts - Opal Davenport of Mankato and Dolores Hubbard of Guide Rock, Nebraska.
Celebration of service was held Tuesday, December 9, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. at the Melby Mortuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Tom Korb officiating. Mrs. Lola Wilson was the organist, and Cheryl Wornner was the soloist. Casket bearers were: Douglas Pair, Mark Sawyer, Larry Gillett, Allen Lewis, Ronald Frasier, and Gary Hasemeyer. Interment was in the Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to Solomon Valley Hospice, Jewell County Hospital or Church of the Nazarene, in care of the Mortuary. Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas, was in charge of arrangements.
