Cecil Lee Roy Hillman

November 5, 1924 — February 20, 2015

Cecil Lee Roy Hillman was born November 5,1924, in Mitchell County southeast of Beloit, KS, to Alva Hillman and Cora (Delp) Hillman, and passed away February 20, 2015, at Mitchell County Hospital “Long-term Care Unit” in Beloit.
He was preceded in death by: his folks; a sister, Esther Critchfield; wife, Marvalee; two sons, Morris and Earl Hillman; two great-grandchildren, Tamara Kuhlman and Tristen Nettleton; and his 2nd wife Lola (Range) Hillman.
Cecil is survived by his daughter Pat Diemart (Frank); step-children Darlene Schellinger (Ed),Doug Range (Judy), Debra Keezer (Steve); daughter-in-law Cheryl Hillman; grandchildren Louanna Frakes, Brenda Roberts, Khriss Castillo, Ranae Jacobs, Shelli Kuhlman, Shane Hillman, and Renita Volker; step-grandchildren Jerry Barnes, Kelly Bunting, Paul Schellinger, Jeffery Schellinger, Amy Pike, Adam Range, Melinda Brummer and Tanda Colley; many great and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Cecil attended grade school in southeast Mitchell County, and high school in Asherville. He married Marvalee (Gentry) Hillman in 1941, and to this union were born three children: Patricia, Morris, and Earl.
They lived in Concordia, Beloit, and Glasco. In 1954, they moved to Ionia, where Cecil had a Mechanic shop and filling station. He ran this business for fifty years.
He married Lola Range in 1987. He loved his family and enjoyed telling jokes and riddles.
Cecil was a member of the Ionia United Methodist Church. He was a loving husband, dad, and granddad. He had a lot of friends and enjoyed life and helping family and friends. He was always there for you. He will be missed by all.
Funeral services for Cecil Lee Roy Hillman were held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m., at the Ionia United Methodist Church, Ionia, KS. Rod Rose officiated. Interment was in Ionia Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Mitchell County Hospital Long-term Care Unit, Beloit, Kansas. Melby Mortuary, Mankato, was in charge of arrangements.
