Carl graduated from Scandia High School, Scandia, Kansas. Carl met and married Roberta Maxine Woddell, on January 19, 1959, at Concordia, Kansas.

Carl was never afraid of a hard days work. He worked on the Lovewell Dam Construction for 2 years, and farmed for 12 years. He was in the garden club, and spent a lot of time in his garden and showing his vegetables to people and sharing the harvest. He was always ready to share his knowledge on how to plant a garden and always went by the almanac. Carl enjoyed his golf cart and lawn mower around Formoso. He would go for the mail or mow several lawns just to keep everything looking good. His hobbies were working with wood, camping, fishing and trapping.

Carl was a big part of the Formoso community. He shared many stories, weather funny or sad, but never spoke in a bad way about anyone. Carl touched many people lives and was loved and will be missed by everyone. Since Carl became ill, he appreciated many friends, and family, who stopped by and spent precious time with him. Your compassion was appreciated and cherished.
