Dennis Leroy Roesti

Dennis L. Roesti, of Burr Oak, Kansas, was born February 2, 1938, in Bashaw, Alberta, Canada, and past away, February 9, 2014, at the age of 76 years at the Republic County Hospital, Belleville, Kansas. He was born to Vincent A. and Opal Ona (Callahan) Roesti.

Dennis was a graduate from Burr Oak High School, in 1956. He served on the Burr Oak School Board in the 1970’s and was a former member of the Burr Oak Lions Club. On May 25, 1958, he marry Wilma M. Killen, they were bless with four children Mitiz, Mike, Jerry and Steve.

Dennis is survived by his wife, Wilma of the home; daughter –Mitiz and husband Jake Belfort, of Bison, Kansas; sons – Michael and wife, Janet Roesti of McPherson, Kansas, Jerry and wife, Bobette Roesti of Mankato, Kansas, nd Steve Roesti of Superior, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren - Tyler and wife, Jennifer Roesti of Geneseo, Kansas, Tami and husband, Nate Harts of Sun City, Kansas, Lindsey Roesti of McPherson, Kansas, Britni Oakman, Ashlei Roesti, and Jarett Roesti all three from Superior, Nebraska; 2 great-grandchildren- Hudson Harts and Kylee Oakman; his brother – Marvin and wife, Delores Roesti, of Fairmont, Nebraska; sister – Deloris Barker of Topeka, Kansas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of life service for Dennis L. Roesti, will be (was) at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 13, 2014, at the Nazarene Church of Christ in Burr Oak, Kansas, with Pastor Tom Korb officiating. Pianist will be (was) Mrs. Beverly Beavers, and soloist will be (was) Kelly McNichols. The two hymns will be (were) “In The Garden” and “Amazing Grace.” Casket bearers will be (were): Jack Wilson, Rodney Howard, Mike Harris, Robert “Bob” Johnson, Roger Lindberg, and Larry McMains. Honorary casket bearers will be (were) Dan Cleveland, Jerry Harris, and Douglas Thomas. Interment will be (was) in Burr Oak Cemetery, Burr Oak, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to the church. Visitation will be (was) Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 12, 2014, between 6:30 pm and 8:00 at the Mortuary.
