Glenn Clemons Fearing

Dorothy L. Fearing, 95, of Cumberland, Rhode Island died, Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the Mount St. Rita Health Center, with her family by her side. Glenn Clemons Fearing, 94, died Sunday, November 3, 2013, at the Mount St. Rita Health Center. They were married for 71 years.

Dorothy was born on October 13, 1917, in Harveyville, Kansas, to William and Susie (Miller) Morton.

She worked in food service as a supervisor for several years before retiring.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She especially enjoyed the special times with her loving family.

Glenn was born on December 4, 1918, in Burr Oak, Kansas. He was the son of Clarence W. and Ruth E. (Clemons) Fearing.

He spent most of his life operating the Fearing family farm in Kansas. He was active in the community serving on the Burr Oak School Board and as a member of the Lions Club.

When Glen retired from farming, they moved to Bella Vista, Arkansas, where they began a business, Gifts and Treasures, featuring Glenn’s handmade trunks. After 29 years in Arkansas, they also lived in Texas for 6 years before finally moving to Cumberland, Rhode Island, in 2011.

Glenn loved to hunt and fish and especially spending time with family. During the last few weeks of the life, his greatest joy was being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

They are survived by a daughter, Sherry Jean and her husband, Robert A. Campanelli of Cumberland, Rhode Island; and son David and wife, Donna Fearing of Alva, Oklahoma; four grandchildren – David A. Campanelli of Brooklyn, New York, Matthew R Campanelli of Cumberland, Rhode Island, David B Fearing of Kodiak, Alaska, and Michael J. Fearing of San Antonio, Texas, and four great-grandchildren. They are also survived by Dorothy’s sister – Mary Modlin of Burr Oak, Kansas; and Glenn’s siblings – Harold E. Fearing of Enterprise, Alabama, and Lauradelle Warne of Texas.

They were preceded in death by Glenn’s siblings – Beth Alexander, Jean Fearing, and June Dempsey; and Dorothy's sister - Susan Chitty

A celebration of life service will be Friday, November 22, 2013, at 2:00 p.m., at the United Methodist Church, Burr Oak, Kansas, with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Burr Oak Cemetery, in Burr Oak, Kansas. The family suggests memorials to: Home and Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 1085 North Main Street, Providence, RI 02904.
