Larry G Hood

Larry G. Hood, was born to Edwin and Zelma Pauline (Strader) Hood on August 30, 1962, at Charleston, Illinois, and died July 19, 2013, at the Jewell County Hospital, Mankato, Kansas, after a short illness at the age of 50 years.

Larry attended school at the New Castle Elementary School in New Castle, Colorado and high school at Rifle High School in Rifle, Colorado. He then served in the United Sates Air Force. After his military career, Larry worked for many people including Rose Pork Producers of Ionia, Kansas, and was working with Jerry Ells of Mankato, as a carpenter. Larry married Lisa Long, and they later divorced.

Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Zelma Pauline. He is survived by his father, Edwin Hood of Mankato; four sisters – RaDonna Mister of Hastings, Nebraska, Sandy and husband Ron York of Clifton, Colorado, CharAnna, and husband, Bill Flippo, Jr. of Hopkins, South Carolina, and Maria Isabel of Superior, Nebraska; Nieces and nephews – Kristeen and Lacey Carpenter, Grand Junction, Colorado, Shawn, Nathan and Hunter Flippo of Hopkins, South Carolina, Mikah and Maylie Gay of Superior, Nebraska, Rebecca, Tommy, April, Jennifer, and RaDonna –Mister of Hastings, Nebraska; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A memorial celebration of life service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the Christian Church, Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Thaddeus Hinkle officiating. Military honors will be presented by United State Air Force Honor Guard from McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita, Kansas. Inurnment will be at a later date at Oak Grove Cemetery, Oakland, Illinois.
