Glenn Hamilton Cederberg

Glenn Hamilton Cederberg, age 93, of Osceola, Nebraska, passed away August 29, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Society in Osceola.
Glenn was born May 2, 1919 to Carl Oscar and Bertha June (Hamilton) Cederberg in Mankato, KS. After graduating from high school, he went on to receive Masters Degree in Teaching and Guidance Counseling from UNL. He taught school for 27 years in various places including Maxwell, Nelson, Shelby and Osceola. Glenn also farmed for 10 years.
Glenn served in the United States Army from March 3, 1942 until October 24, 1945, serving in West Germany, France, England and Alaska.
On October 16, of 1960 he was united in marriage to Neva McElroy at Angus, NE.
Glenn retired form teaching 1986. He enjoyed traveling and had visited 43 states. He loved to restore clocks. He also enjoyed gardening, flowers and vegetables.
Neva passed away September 15, 1997. Glenn continued living in Osceola, moving into assisted living and then into the Good Samaritan Society where he remained until his passing.
Survivors include one son Glenn Blaine Cederberg and wife Char of Lincoln; granddaughter Jill Walrod and husband Chad of Lincoln; grandson Carl Cederberg and wife Becky of Lincoln; great grandchildren Seth and Benjamin Walrod and Ethan and Eleanor Cederberg; nephew Jack Jackson; niece Ruth Rogers and a host of other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife Neva; his parents Carl and Bertha; sister June Jackson and brother Harold Cederberg.

Memorial graveside service with honors will be Saturday, September 22, 2012, at 11:00 a.m., at the Mount Hope Cemetery, Manakto, Kansas, with Pastor Thaddeus Hinkle officiating. Military honors will be provided by United States Army Honor Guard, Ft. Riley, Kansas. Inurnment followed in the cemetery.

Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas, was in charge of arrangements.
