Connie Jo Lilly was born April 16, 1962, and shared that special day with her son, as it was his birthday, at Red Cloud, Nebraska, to Gerald Dale and Janeen Jo (Hayward) Lorence, and died August 24, 2007, at the Via Christie Medical Center, St. Francis, Wichita, Kansas, at the age of 45 years, 4 months, and 8 days.

Connie attended Lebanon Grade and High School, graduating in 1980 . She met and married Wayne Glinsmann, in 1983. She was baptized in the Church of Jesus Christ, Latter Day Saints in 1995. Later they divorced, and she married Robert Lilly on January 1, 2000, at Knoxville, Tennessee. She loved to travel and visited most states and Canada several times. Connie enjoyed being a free spirit and a fun loving person. This personality allowed her to make new friends along the way. She had lived in Hastings, and Omaha, Nebraska, Council Bluffs, Iowa, besides Smith Center, Kansas. Connie enjoyed antiquing, and collecting marbles and costume jewelry. She was a member of Narcotics Anonymous.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents; and grandparents: Tony and Bernice Lorence, and Mike and Maggie Hayward.

She is survived by her son: Eric Wayne Glinsmann of Smith Center, Kansas; a daughter Journey who was adopted shortly after birth; sister- Marla K. Lorence of Lebanon, Kansas; a brother- Jerald Dean and wife, Darla Lorence of Salina, Kansas; three nephews- James, Jermony, and Charles; niece-, Amber; husband-, Robert Lilly of Florida, companion- Chubbs (her dog), and a host of other relatives and friends.

She commented the other day that she was missing Eric and his shenanigans.

A celebration of life service was held at 2:00p.m., Wednesday, August 29, 2007, at the Melby Mortuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Lance McDowell officiating. The service included some of Connie’s favorite recorded music. The family would accept memorials to assist with expenses. Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas, was in charge of arrangements.
