Irvin "Dean" Davis

Irvin “Dean” Davis, of Mankato, Kansas, was born December 3, 1949, at Hastings, Nebraska, to Irvin Edward and Isabelle May (Schumann) Davis, and died October 3, 2011, at the Good Samaritan Health System, Kearney, Nebraska at the age of 61 years of age.

Dean was the name he was known by, was a high school graduate and had entered Vo-tech school before he was called up for the draft. He served in the United States Army.
Dean was a plumber, heating and air conditioning contractor in the Mankato area.

Dean married Joann Crow on June 8, 1985, at the Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato. To this union one son was born, Shaun.

He was preceded in death by his father - Irvin Davis. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife - Joann, and son - Shaun of the home; two sisters – Deanna Steier of Kearney, Nebraska, and Debra and husband, Larry Shaw of Spring Ranch, Glenvil, Nebraska; his mother, Isabelle Davis of Hastings, Nebraska; three nieces and two nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service for Irvin “Dean” Davis will be at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 6, 2011, at the Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating. Military honors will be presented by Nebraska Army National Guard Honor Guard and Hastings American Legion. Interment will be in the St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas, from 9:00 a.m. t o 8:00 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the America Heart Association or to the family to help with medical expenses. Melby Mortuary, Mankato, Kansas was in charge of arrangements.
