Anita L. "Mickey" Watson

Anita “Mickey” Watson was born November 14, 1934, west of Mankato, Kansas, to Everett and Myrtle (Davis) Siemon. She died, Monday, September 26, 2011, at the Ottawa County Health Center in Minneapolis, Kansas, at the age of 76 years, 10 months, and 12 days.

Anita has one brother, Donald Seimon, of Mankato, Kansas, and two sisters, Anne Ost of Mankato, Kansas, and Avis Spillman (deceased).

Anita attended and graduated from Mankato High School in . She later married Anson “Andy” Watson on December 27, 1958. Their marriage produced three sons and two daughters. Ronald Watson, who resided near Chapman, Kansas; Andrea Morrow from Olathe, Kansas; Georgia Dirks from Junction City, Kansas; Paul “Danny” Watson from Denton, Texas; and Andy Watson, who is currently serving in Afghanistan. Anita has thirteen grandchildren.

Anita was a homemaker. She worked outside the home after her children were raised. Mickey enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She spent the last 14 years in Minneapolis, Kansas.

Celebration of life service will be (was) Saturday, October 1, 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at the Melby Mortuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas, with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating. Casket Bearers will be (were) Jonathan Dirks, Brett McGuire, Brandt Watson, Chris Whelchel, Trevor Elkins, and Rebecca Dirks. Interment will be (was) next to her mother in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas.
