Donna Ruth Snyder

Donna Ruth (Palmer) Snyder, 79 of Belleville, Kansas passed away September 19 at Bryan Lincoln General Hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was born January 13, 1932 in Deshler, Nebraska to Clarence and Helen (Davis) Palmer. Donna attended a country school in northern Republic County and high school in Chester, Nebraska and graduated from Chester High School in 1949.

Donna married Duane H. Snyder on December 27, 1950. They shared over 52 years of marriage until Duane’s death in January 2003.

They were blessed with four children: Stephen Snyder, Bruce Snyder, Michael and wife Patricia Snyder, and Jane Snyder, deceased in 1985. Five grandchildren - Stephanie Snyder, Erica Holland, Laura Snyder, Allison Yoder, Brynn Dryer, Adam Snyder - and five great-grandchildren Aidan Valdez, Lilah Holland, Elia Holland, Jackson Yoder, Bella Dryer.

Donna is a member of the Harmony United Methodist Church in Mankato, KS. She taught Sunday School and was a member of the United Methodist Women. She participated in several social organizations and was a Cub Scout leader. Donna was also a Teacher’s Aide for several years before retiring.

A Memorial Service will be (was) held at 1:30pm, September 25, at the Harmony United Methodist Church, Mankato, KS with Pastor Gerry Sharp officiating. Mrs. Rosalie Menhusen will be the pianist the quartet of Jon and Rosalie Menhusen and Allen and Elaine Smith will sing (sang) “How Great Thou Art” and “ Amazing Grace.” The Congregation will sing, (Sang) “The Lord’s Prayer.” Her cremated remains will be interred at the Belleville Cemetery at Belleville, KS following the Memorial Service.

The family suggests memorials to the Snyder Family Scholarship Fund in care of The State Exchange Bank, Mankato, KS.

The family will receive friends and visitors at the Melby Mortuary from 2pm to 4pm on Saturday, September 24.
