Betty L. Tyrell

Betty L. Tyrell, 88, was a homemaker and retired beautician passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2011, at Hesler Care Center, Hutchinson, Kansas. She was born May 13, 1922, at Mankato, the daughter of Newell and Ruby Davis. She was a life long resident of Mankato, until, October, 2002.

On August 14, 1942, she married Harry (Pooch) Tyrell at Belleville, Kansas.

Survivors, include two sons - David and wife, Mary of Hutchinson, and Vance and wife Kathie of Wichita; three grandsons – Rustin, Corey, and Trapper; three great-grandchildren – Marisa, Keegan, and Kilian: and one brother – Don Davis, Manhattan, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband - Harry, and sister - Joyce Ann Meyers.

A celebration of life service will be (was) 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 29, 2011, at the Melby Mortuary Chapel, Mankato, Kansas, with Betty’s Hospice Care Chaplin, Randall Turner officiating. Casket bearers will be (were) Rustin Tyrell, Corey Tyrell, Trapper Tyrell, Dan Davis, John Meyer, III, and Steve Shields. Honorary casket bearers will be (were): John Meyer, II, Don Davis, Irma Johnson, and Gretchen (Blair) Hughes. Interment will be (was) in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Mankato, Kansas.
